These waterless toilets are very easy to install. The first step in the installation process is to connect the chimney system - it can be installed vertically up through the roof or horizontally out through the wall with an elbow. The standard chimney kit that is included with the unit is 8 ft long. The pipes are made by stainless steel and they have a 6" I.D. and a 8" O.D.
If a longer pipe is needed, it is easy to add more pipes to meet the desired length. The pipes come in 2, 3, and 4 ft sections. By adding more lenght to the chimney system, the draft in the pipe increases.
Once the chimney system is installed, the next step in the installation process is to connect the power and fuel sources. Both the SR5 and the SR12 models require two separate 12V DC batteries or transformers (120V AC models). A standard 3/8" propane hose is also included with the propane models. The toilet can be connected to a regular 5 gallon propane tank, or to a larger propane source. The diesel models come with a 16 gallon diesel tank that can be positioned up to 10 ft away from the toilet.
Since the clean-out door to the burn chamber is located in the back of the unit, a 5" clearance from the back wall recommended. Furthermore, the toilet must be installed inside a weather proof building/structure and it should not be operated in an area where there is a risk of an accumulation of flammable vapors or dust.
